When you're done preaching, it's time to eat good and watch the game. Who wants to worry about lifting and putting away a big old pulpit? Good thing you don't have to. Just roll it away on its casters (wheels), and you're good to go.
The top surface also has an oak book stopper, as well to keep books and notes from sliding.
